ACROSS TIME

In order to add a bit more happiness to the down-trodden Elle, Irving smiled a bit and began to hum "Here Comes the Bride" for her sake, and of course, sounding horribly off-key. Finally arriving at the podium, Irving let go of Elle to turn towards Fay, wrapping his arm around his rose's waist.

"Ladies and gentleman, we are gathered here today to join in holy matrimony Dominic and Nelle..."

"Elle." Irving corrected.

"Um, yes, of course. So then...do you Elle, take Dominic to be your husband? For better or worse? For richer or poorer?"

"I..." She started, she thought for a second, Is this what I want...? She asked herself. What seemed like an eternity to her was only about a second, "I... I do," She told him. She was smiling again and now it was easily seen due to the fact that her veil was now up.

Fay rested her head on Irving's chest, she was smiled, but frowned, she didn't know why, but Elle reminded her of Jillian, which made her miss her children.

"And do you Dominic take...?"

"I do." Dominic hastily interrupted, drawing a smile from Irving, who, at this point, was stroking his fingers through his wife's angelic like hair. He could sense her sorrow, as he too missed their children. "We'll find our way back home, hun. I know we will. We have to."

"Then, by the power invested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Dominic? You may kiss the bride." the priest said.

Elle noticed Dominic hesitating, though she understood why, this was basically the most important kiss of their lives, she decided to act and pulled him into a kiss. It was firey yet innocent. She draped her arms over his shoulders.

Fay smiled, "What a weird couple of days..." She told Irving in a hushed voice she sighed, "And maybe..." She started, "Maybe this is home? Maybe this is where we're ment to be..." She told him.

Happy that Elle made the first move, Dominic returned the kiss in it's passion and intensity, his hands massaging her hips and waist. At this moment, he was the happiest person in the world, vampire or not. He had tasted her kiss before, but this was the sweetest it had ever been, over-flowing with love and desire, unlike anything he had witnessed before.

"Told you." Irving said with a slight smirk. "I mean, honestly hun, what's in that time for us? For our kids? Nothin' I tell ya. Once we find a way to go back, I see we stay here. We can FINALLY get that clean start we've always wanted. People will quit whispering about the washed-up thief that married the ex-whore. This is perfect for us."

Elle broke the kiss and held onto Dominic, she felt as if none of this was real, "Am I..." She started before a tear ran down her cheek, "Am I dreaming?" She asked in a hushed voice, she couldn't imagine anyone, especially her.

Fay sighed, "Can we really do something like that to the kids? Moving them from town to town is one thing, but to a different time?" She asked.

"If this is a dream, then I never want to wake up." Dominic said quietly. "Not if waking up meant losing you, the one thing I value more than anything else in this world."

"Honestly, babe, I'd say they'd grasp it a helluva lot faster than we would." Irving said simply. "I mean, they've always been bright kids and they're just now understanding the world around them. Plus, look what all this time has to offer...better medicine, better living, better...I dunno, everything! They don't have to go to school and have to put up with the whispers of who their Mom is, nor will they have to wear the same pair of pants for a week or so, because we can't afford anything else. They're quick learners."

Elle held tightly onto Dominic, "I'll never leave you, until the day I die I'll be by your side..." She told him, resting her cheek on his chest. She closed her eyes and listened to the slow rythmic beating of his heart.

She balled up her fist, taking some of the fabric of his shirt she opened her eyes and looked up at Dominic, "Do we..." She looked away from him and blushed. She didn't want to be near anyone or doing anything with anyone that was remotely sexual, actually, being that close to Dominic was making her panic a little.

"I still don't know, and how are we supposed to get jobs, I'm sure it's a lot different then our time," She sighed, "It's just a lot to think about..." She told him.

Dominic smiled slightly and leaned down to kiss her forehead.

"I will only do what you're comfortable with, my beloved. If sexual intimacy is something you do not desire at this moment, than I shall honor your request. Spending the rest of my life with you is reason enough to be happy."

"Of course, babe." Irving said simply. "I mean, it's a lot to think about. I wouldn't expect you to make up your mind so quick, ya know?"

She looked up at Dominic, "You're too sweet," She told him, kissing him softly on his pale lips.

She sighed, "You know, we're going to have to tell my parents at some point," She told him, "I kind of just, you know, left without a good bye when I found out that I was pregnant..." She groaned, the whole situation gave her a headach so she decided to ignore it, for now of course.

She smiled, "Lets go home," She told him before kissing him again.

"Yeah, I know... I'm fine with it, but I think we should let the kids decide," She told him.

"Indeed, your parents will have to know. I'm sure they'll be upset that you married a vampire...but..."

He paused again, then smiling slightly, returning her kisses.

"...but we'll talk about it later."

And with that, he simply walked out of the building, intending to flag down a taxi for a ride back to the apartment.

"Sounds good to me, babe." Irving said. As they walked into the taxi, he held the door open for his wife, making sure to give her a soft swat on the butt with a mischievous grin all over his face.

Elle noticed that there was only room for three in the back of the taxi, she leaned close to Dominic, "I'm going to fly home, there isn't enough room and I need the air," She told him, kissing him softly. She backed away from him, her wings pealing off of her back and spreading. She noticed a worried look on his face, "Don't be worried, I'll be there before you are," She kissed his cheek, "I promice," She told him.

Fay immediatly took hold of Irving's hand, she twisted it, causing him some pain, "You know I don't like that, you know I don't like being treated that way, you do that again and I'm taking this," She told him, getting into the taxi."

"Very well, my dear." Dominic said, smiling. "Fly away. I shall see you shortly."

The vampire scooted over a bit, making way for Irving and Fay, yet trying not to pay attention to their little lover's quarrel.

Irving yelped in pain, wincing a bit, before rubbing his wrist.

"Damn Fay, I was just joking." he groaned. "Geez, sorry my joke POed you so bad. I won't do it again."

Irving slid in the Taxi next to Fay, keeping his hands to himself or risking getting into further trouble.

Fay smiled and rubbed Irving's inner thigh, "I'm sorry for trying to break your wrist, I just hate being treated like property, I got enough of that already in my life..." She told him, resting her head on his shoulder and yawning.

Elle was floating right above the clouds, she was staring at the full moon, she hadn't flown a long distance in months so her wings were tingling. She shivered a little and wrapped her arms around herself. She was beginning to feel dizzy, most likely from smaller concentration of oxygen. She bent at the waist and quickly pushed herself with her wings before foulding them back letting herself fall, she was able to do this four about a minute before folding them out again to slow her down, she stopped right outside of the window of their appartment. She pushed it open and landed inside.

Dominic watched Irving and Fay cuddle on the backseat of the taxi as a sly smile spread on his face. He could tell they were very much in love and had encountered many hardships together, yet had always come back on top. He hoped, quietly to himself, that this would be he and Elle's fate, that they too could overcome difficulties and still remain as strong as ever.

"Here ya are." the taxi driver barked, sticking his hand back through the chain fence. "That'll be $19.97 puh-leeze."

Dominic reached into his wallet and handed the man a $20, telling him to keep the changed. With a slight nod, he left the car, followed by Irving and Fay as they made their way up the stairs to the apartment.

Elle was clad in only a slightly oversided t-shirt that, when standing, reached to only inches past the start of her thigh. She was laying down on the couch idly flipping through channels on the tv. She heard foot steps and immediately recognized the pattern in the steps. She smiled a little, to call Dominic her husband was still very forgin to her, but she would get used to it.

Insted of greeting him she decided to be lazy and stay on the couch. Her eyelids were heavy, she was ready for sleep.

Dominic entered the living room, finding Elle near asleep on the couch. She looked so peaceful that he briefly considered letting her sleep on the couch, but he couldn't bring himself to do that in the long run. Shutting the TV off, he gently scooped his newlywed bride up in his arms, carrying her to their bedroom, shutting the door with his foot.

Irving stretched his arms and yawned, scratching his side as was his habit.

"I think those kids got the right idea..." he said. "We've had one helluva day and I'd rather just go to sleep and forget about this whole mess."

He smirked a bit and chuckled lightly to himself.

"Let's just hope they don't try to start the honeymoon tonight. I'd like to sleep straight through."

Fay smiled, "Don't worry sweetie, they won't, Elle's still pretty shaken up and Dominic won't try to pressure her into anything," She told Irving, she yawned, "Lets go to bed, I'm tired and would rather sleep next to an unpossessed you," She told him before catching his lips in a soft kiss.

Elle curled up in Dominic's arms she yawned a little, "I'm tired baby," She told him before yawning again, "Lets go to bed," She finished, kissing him lightly on the neck.

"Hey trust me, I'm happy to get that crazy bastard out of my brain. It was horrible, Fay. He made me watch all these messed up, made up images of you cheating on me. I felt horrible...I...I didn't want to believe it was true, but he wouldn't let me look away."

The thief sighed heavily, as he confessed his guilt to his bride.

"I...I didn't want to believe at first, but towards the end...I started to think it was true. I'm sorry, hun...I should know you better than that."

Dominic didn't say anything in fear of waking her up. Rather, he laid her down gently in bed, stripped down to his boxers and curled up next to her under the sheets, wrapping his arms around her waist in a secure sign that he would never let go of her again.

"I love you." he whispered quietly.

"Now you..." She sighed, "Now you know how I felt when I walked in on you and that bitch," She cracked her knuckles, "I still kicked that dumb blond tramp's ass," She smiled, "That's the first and the last time that she'll try and be me," She told him.

Elle rolled over in her sleep so her head and hands where resting on Dominic's chest she smiled in her sleep and naturally moved closer to him.

Irving's sigh was heavy and dreadful, like his lungs had shut down and it took every drop of strength he had to exhale in such a manner.

"Yeah..." he finally said, his voice trailing off. "I don't know if I could ever forgive myself for that...and...if I hadn't, well, you would have never wound up in the situation you did." he added, referring to her career as a prostitute. "So, in a lot of ways, you're suffering in that 'job' was my fault..."

Her scent was intoxicating, her skin near flawless, her body perfect and firm in all the right places. She was amazing, gorgeous, so many words at once. It was then Dominic made an important decision, one that would effect his life forever. He would forsake his vampire bloodline, find a way to redeem himself back to humanity's graces, so that he would be able to give her the love and grace she so deserved.

Fay sighed a little, "Don't feel bad, I chose that life because I knew that it was something I could do and I could do it when the children were asleep so I could always be there for them," She told him, "And come on, lets go to bed," She told him, kissing his lips softly.

Her lips were softer than anything Irving had ever experienced before. Before, he would fight the urge to tear off her clothes and frantically make love to her to the wee hours in the morning, but as time went on in their marriage, he found that even the simple things could derive pleasure.

He ran his fingers through her hair once more, before crawling back into bed, yawning deeply as his brain became clouded with the fog of sleep.

"Sleep well, my darling." he said quietly.

Fay stripped down to only her shirt and crawled into bed with Irving, she kissed him lightly on the cheek before laying down beside him.

Elle's eyes shot open it was around noon. She pried herself from Dominic's arms, he was so stiff in his sleep sometimes. She got out of bed and got a quick shower. She decided that the sooner she contacted her family the better so she was going to do it today.

She sighed a little, fully knowing that it wouldn't go well she took out a peice of paper from the drawer and simply wrote: "Out, call me if you need me," along with her phone number.

She opened the window and flew out.

Normally Irving would take this time to admire and bask in the fact that his beautiful wife was wearing nothing but a shirt. But the Power of Sleep was just too much and the retired thief drifted off with a faint smile on his face, feeling the warmth of Fay's tender body next to his. It was a blissful, perfect feeling.

Dominic woke later that night, feeling the sunset, his body instinctively waking up. Noticing the piece of paper on the draw, he read and sighed heavily to himself. He knew Elle very well and knew she had gone to try and make amends with her family.

"I hope this works for you, my love." he said quietly, staring out at the window.
